How to properly care for your soy candle

To really get the best out of your candle, there are several steps you can take to make the most of its burn life and provide the best candle care possible.
Follow these simple tips and you’ll get the most out of every candle.
Safety First
Never lift your candle by the lid. The weight of the candle may be too much for the lid, causing the product to be dropped and damaged or injury.
Never microwave your candle. All candles have a metal wick tab which makes them unsafe for microwaving.
Place your candle on a flat, heat resistant surface and away from drafts, children, pets, or anything flammable.
Light your candle with a long fireplace match or grill lighter so you don’t burn yourself or the jar.
Discard your candle once the remaining wax reaches 1/2” deep. Burning it any further could cause the glass to overheat and break.
First burn
Make sure you have 2-3 hours available before your first burn. We know it is exciting to want to light your candle right away for the first time, but this is a crucial step because soy has a burn memory. If the first burn doesn’t melt all the way out to the diameter of its’ container, the candle might not burn properly in the future.
Between each lighting
After the candle is extinguished, allow the wick to harden and carefully trim to 1/4”. Do not allow wick trimmings to fall into the wax.
If you ever spill wax on a surface, simply clean that surface with hot soapy water. The heat of the water will melt the wax, making it super easy to clean up.
Soy behaviour
Your candle is made of natural soy wax. We do not use additives, which means your candle can change colour depending on light exposure. This does not affect the performance of our product.
Since soy is a living organism, it continues to expand, contract and change from its current form depending on a variety of conditions, including temperature! It may also look frosted. These ‘flaws’ are normal and it is a clear indication that you have purchased a natural soy candle.
Now that you have all the information you need, enjoy the virtues of your natural soy candle and relax while reading a book or watching TV!
Enjoy!
